Update: Bodnariu family case in Norway + Global Protest!

Then Hannah prayed and said:
“My heart rejoices in the LORD; in the LORD my horn is lifted high.
My mouth boasts over my enemies, for I delight in your deliverance.” (1 Samuel 2:1)

This picture is one of the happiest sights in a long time! It swells my heart with great joy and makes my eyes water! What a mighty deliverance the Lord has done- He answered so many prayers of this heartbroken family and hundreds of thousands of supporters!

The Bodnariu family who lives in Norway had their five children (ages 11 years to 4 months) literally abducted from them with no legitimate reason by the “Child Protective Services” in November 2015. If you are not familiar with the story you can read the previous post: In Norway it is a Crime to Sing!

After many, many months, the CPS has finally relented slightly, and allowed the youngest baby to return to his parents, the Bodnarius. You can tell the traumatized parents are simply radiating with joy to have their baby returned!

Norwegian Couple Whose Children were seized over Christian upbringing reunited with infant

But the battle is not done! This small act by the CPS is just the beginning of what they have to continue-    to give the rest of the 4 children back to their parents where they belong. And the thousands of supporters will not stop until justice is fully done! Continue to pray. Also, there will be a global protest held on April 16th, 2016

Resurrection Sunday

“Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime”  ~Martin Luther (Reformer)

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid;
for I know that you are looking for Jesus
who has been crucified.
He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said.
Come, see the place where He was lying.”
(Matthew 28:5-6)

Oh Sweet the joy this sentence gives, I know that my Redeemer Lives!
(Hymn: Samuel Medley)

I know that my Redeemer lives
What comfort this sweet sentence gives
He lives, He lives, who once was dead
He lives, my ever living Head.

He lives to bless me with His love
He lives to plead for me above
He lives my hungry soul to feed
He lives to help in time of need

He lives to grant me rich supply
He lives to guide me with His eye
He lives to comfort me when faint
He lives to hear my soul’s complaint

He lives to silence all my fears
He lives to wipe away my tears
He lives to calm my troubled heart
He lives all blessings to impart

He lives, my kind, wise, Heavenly Friend
He lives and loves me ’til the end
He lives, and while He lives, I’ll sing
He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King

He lives and grants me daily breath
He lives, and I shall conquer death
He lives my mansion to prepare
He lives to bring me safely there

He lives, all glory to His Name
He lives, my Savior, still the same
Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives
I know that my Redeemer lives

Midweek Music XVIII: In Norway, it is a crime to sing

Arise, O LORD, do not let man prevail; Let the nations be judged before You. Put them in fear, O LORD; Let the nations know that they are but men.

(Psalm 9:19)

This week’s midweek music is unique. I am featuring a different kind of singing.

It is singing in protest

Once upon a time, actually just two months ago in November 2015, two sisters were in school in Norway and were humming the tune to a Christian song. The song “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands”. The teacher overheard them and realized they were Christians…and that’s when it all started.

The nightmare

That very day, the two sisters were mercilessly taken away from their family by the “child protective” services of Norway, named Barnevarnet. They were snatched directly out of school. A few hours later, Barnevarnet went to their home and snatched the two younger brothers who were at home. It didn’t stop there.

Like the Nazis

The social services arrested their father who was at work, confiscated his phone and didn’t allow him to call anyone, didn’t explain the situation fully, and did not allow him to hire a lawyer. Sounds like the Nazi’s in WWII doesn’t it?

And listen to this outrageous part of the story. As the mother was still in shock over it all, Barnevarnet “child protective” services later came and heartlessly kidnapped the youngest child of the family  – a 4 month old breastfeeding infant, right out of the mother’s arms! This Christian family was falsely accused by Barnevarnet (“social service”) of indoctrination. Read details about their story at the link at the end of this post.

This is the story of the Bodnariu family. A Romanian family in Norway who had their children kidnapped by the Barnevarnet social service.

Norway, you claim to be nearly 90% Lutheran as a country, and yet you allow Barnevarnet to do these horrific kidnapping acts? How contemptible!

The War Cry

There are peaceful protests going on all over the world over this horrific act. In the United States, Spain, Poland, Germany, Italy, Austria, Romania etc…. It is all over the news in Europe.

So I am joining in the protest.

Protest against a heartless, sadistic nation who ruthlessly stole away innocent children!

They wanted to silence these Christian girls who hummed a Christian tune? THEN….We will sing!! Our voices will ALWAYS be heard. Loud, strong and clear! Till God brings back those children. The Lord will avenge His children!

Norway, you may have tried to stop the Bodnariu girls from singing-  but the singing has spread all over the world!

Listen to these Romanian protesters sing in Brussels in protest against Norway.

Lyrics to the Romanian song the protesters sang:

“O how beautiful it is to be in a family,
The holy family of the Lord Jesus Christ”

“We are a united family, We are a real family,
A family that loves, The family of the Lord Jesus Christ!”

Keep this family in your prayers and spread the word!

“And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help,
whether with many, or with them that have no power:
help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude.
O LORD, thou art our God; let no man prevail against thee.”
(2 Chronicles 14:11)

4th of July Recap

I decided to do things a little differently this year on the blog for Independence Day.

Instead of having a pre-holiday post with happy wishes for the upcoming event, I’m just going to share a short snippet of how my family and I celebrated!

I love looking up patriotic quotes and songs as the day draws near, and this year I saw a quote which many Americans may be familiar with on a sign on the freeway. It really stuck to me, and I felt it was so true in our days:

Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty

Now back to our day. It was a lovely day with friends, fellowship, mouth-watering food, games, singing, sharing from the Scriptures and fireworks!

To balance out all the fun we had near the end of the day, the first part of the day was filled with preparation and chores. Car washing, cleaning, shopping, baking, making decorations…endless little details 🙂

4th of July fireworks

My sister made the best brownie cheesecake bites in red, white and blue. I complemented the dessert with little decorations I put up around the yard to make it look festive

4th of July decorations

We had burgers with generous trimmings of mushrooms, bacon and guacamole (amazing I know), with chips and coleslaw on the side, all made from scratch. For drinks we had natural lemonade, also made from scratch with honey and sparkling water.

4th of July

We sat outside under umbrellas and canopies with friends. Afterward we played a game with teams, and I’m proud to say my team won twice! Yeah!

4th of July dessert

This is the dessert table from a top view, though not quite complete, because we had ice cream too 😉

4th of July decorations

It was so cozy and beautiful to be outside in the warm weather even as it got dark, and we anticipated the fireworks. But first we went inside, sang some hymns, shared some things from the Bible and prayed together.

The fireworks were beautiful and we sang all the patriotic songs we knew as we stood there watching them! That’s how we spent our 4th of July.

To my American readers, how did you celebrate? To my other readers, wish you could share in the festivities once with us!

Midweek Music X: Shepherds singing

Listen to pastors and men from all 50 States, and 70 different countries around the world sing at the Shepherd’s Conference from three weeks ago, in case any of you missed the singing part when you watched it live.

This is just absolutely heavenly to hear so many men sing these hymns with passion and see all the masses of people there. I doubt this is even a glimpse of what it will be like singing up there in heaven with saints as many as the sand on the shore, praising our Heavenly Father! This is true worship!

Turn up the volume to really get the full impact of it:
